Manolo Marquez – I am 100% confident that we can get into the playoffs

Ahead of the clash against Chennaiyin FC, Hyderabad FC’s head-coach Manolo Marquez addressed the media in a pre-match press conference.

Hyderabad FC is undefeated in six games but they have four back to back draws and they have dropped a few points. So this is what Manolo Marquez had to say.

“The team needs to convert the created chances into goals, it is true that the team played good football which was attractive for people but in football, the most important thing is the final score and in these four games we were closer to win than to lose.”

“We got four points in four games, I know people say a draw is nothing but a draw is one point and we have four points more than the points we had four games ago.”

“The game against Chennaiyin is a perfect opportunity to get three points for both of the teams. If Chennaiyin wins this game then they can get equal points as us and if we win we can create a distance between both the teams in the points table”

Hyderabad FC showed incredible fight and character to salvage a draw in the last minutes of the match against Bengaluru, Hyderabad was completely dominating but they weren’t able to win the game.

“We are happy with the point that we got in the last minutes, but we are not happy because we deserved to win, we missed clear chances in the first half. Maybe if the game was 3-4 minutes more, we might have had the possibility to win the game but when you are losing by 2 goals then the draw is the best result.”

NorthEast United FC are in the fifth place in the points table with just one point difference with Hyderabad FC, on asking about his opinion on it Manolo Marquez said

“NorthEast is in a good moment now, they won two consecutive difficult games, they are strong at this moment but we sincerely don’t speak about whether any team is close to the top four.”

“Now we are playing against Chennaiyin and we have 90 minutes to win the game. If we are in a good shape and we get good results, we don’t have to be worried about anything”

Hyderabad had a bad debut season but this season they are proving everyone what they are capable of and Manolo Marquez said he is confident that they can get into the top four.

“I am 100% confident, but because of the attitude of the players it is impossible to ask for more because they train like animals, not only the players who get game time but also the players who get fewer minutes.”

Adil Khan went to FC Goa on loan and Manolo Marquez is confident that when in need, players like Nikhil Prabhu can be helpful.

“Nikhil Prabhu is the defender who can play in the places of Odei Onaindia and Sana Singh and of course he is a player who has a possibility to play when we need him”

Manolo Marquez signed off.
