Ahead of the clash against Odisha FC, Hyderabad FC’s head-coach Manolo Marquez addressed the media in a pre-match press conference.
Speaking upon the last game against Mumbai City FC, Marquez said,
“I think it was the one of the most complete game Hyderabad FC have played this season. They were the very strong team. It’s true that we had chances to score but we missed and that is football. Sometimes you score even on tough chances and miss easy once. But we were really close to win the game but I am really satisfied by the performance of the team.“
“Even if we wanted to win the game, but Mumbai City FC were very good in every aspects. But, physically and tactically we played a very good game. However, it is important to keep calm and take one game into consideration at a time. We have nine more games to play,” he added.
The Spaniard quoted, “Even after three consecutive defeats, the team have showed their character and strength in the squad being positive every time. I believe that getting good results in second leg of the league will be difficult as every team has bonded well and want to win at any cost. But it’s important to keep pushing ourselves till the end of the season and give our best.“
Addressing about the tight schedule of the league, the head-coach said,
“It’s difficult situation, but it’s same for every team in the league for this season. If you see, East Bengal have played three game in a week and also have won seven points in those games. However, we cannot look for excuses in this current pandemic situation.“
Commenting on challenge against Odisha FC, Marquez said,
“The last time we played against them, many names were missing from their side. Irrespective of their results, they are the strong and different team and deserve to be higher in the points table. We should be at our best if we have to win against Odisha FC.“
