After the stalemate in the game against SC East Bengal, Bengaluru FC head coach Marco Pezzaiouli spoke to the media.

Pezzaiouli was asked if he was disappointed that the team dropped two points against a bottom placed side,
“Of course, I am very disappointed, we lost two clear points today. We played against a team that was defending very deep and it’s usually very difficult to score in that situation. We conceded a goal at the beginning and it made it more difficult. But we came back in the second half and played well. We had chances to score a goal but we couldn’t find the back of the net.”
Marco was asked why the team could not carry the momentum from the last win against Chennaiyin FC into yesterday’s match. This is what he had to say regarding it.
“We couldn’t carry the momentum because we simply made a mistake from set-pieces which they capitalised by scoring a goal, and that’s what brought them level in the game. Sometimes you need to luck inside the penalty box to score goals, and we simply didn’t have the luck today to score one goal more than the opponent.”

Pezzaiouli seemed animated at the water break with Chhetri. He explained what was the conversation between them,
“I asked Sunil to invest more without the ball. When you’re only standing it’s easy for the opponent to defend. When you have movement in attacking, then you create also more chances, and that’s what I wanted from him.”
Marco was not pleased when he was asked about how long it will take to have Chhetri back in the starting eleven again. He emphasized the team rather than concentrating on an individual player.
“I don’t know I don’t want to talk about Sunil now. We lost two points today. Football is a team game and Sunil is a part of the team and he is still an important player. It depends on the situation, how we wanted to play. If we wanted to start Chhetri, we would have to bench Cleiton, Ashique, Udanta or Prince. They did well in the last match, and that’s why I didn’t see an issue to change the team. I wanted to use Sunil’s energy when he comes on at a later stage. Even today he had a great chance to score in the second half.”
