Match Preview – Mumbai City FC vs Odisha FC

Mumbai City FC faces Odisha FC in a Sunday blockbuster clash where both teams will be eager to register a win by good goal margin.

The Islanders recorded a win over SC East Bengal by 3-0 in the last match. Sergio Lobera will be keen to keep the momentum going on of the team ensuring that the bag this match with a win. Adam le Fondre will be eager to keep going his goal-scoring streak with an eye-catching performance.

On the other hand, Stuart Baxter’s Odisha FC just earned one point in 3 games with two losses and one match drawn. Looking at the combination of Indian youngsters and foreigners, the squad looks very balanced but still need to refine their performance as they have lacked the finishing in the final third.

Speaking of Indian players, Sarthak Golui will be a crucial man in defence alongside Mourtada Fall. Borgas has been key promising players in midfield while Farukh Choudhari will be significant to put crosses into the box from the wings.

In the list of foreigners, the first name is undoubtedly Hugo Boumous, who’s presence in the starting eleven can make a world-class difference. His ability to provide extraordinary assists and make creative passes has been the fans favourite. The 23-year-old CY Goddard has impressed all with his dribbling skills and since the start, he has been a threat to the oppositions. Striker Adam le Fondre will be the man in attack, as his movements on the field can be a menace to the opposition defenders.

Midfielder Gaurav Bora has been able to leave his impact from starting of season. We would also anticipate good game from youngsters Hendry Antonay and Subham Sarangi.

It will be delightful to watch Diego Mauricio scoring goal against the strong side as he showed his astonishing performance in the match against Jamshedpur FC. Defender Jacob Tratt will have the task to block and clear attacks from the rival side while Marcelinho has been the exceptional playmaker where he can be an absolute treat to the Mumbai City FC’s defence with the long ranger shots.

Mumbai City FC’s midfielder Raynier Fernandes suspected a minor injury in an opening match against Northeast United FC. From Odisha FC side, Vinit Rai and Jerry Mawihmingthanga were out of the 20-man squad against ATK Mohun Bagan due to lack of match fitness. But, it expected that both will be the squad and will be seen playing coming up as a substitute in the second half.
