FC Goa are yet to register their first win in the ongoing Indian Super League whereas North East United FC have gathered four points from their first two encounters in the league
Juan Ferrando came with lots of expectations but the results are not going his way. FC Goa made a promising start to their campaign with a draw against mighty Bengaluru FC but their defeat against Mumbai City FC have raised many questions to Ferrando’s tactical game. With the inclusion of Ivan Gonzalez, Igor Angulo, James Donachie and others, the team looked impressive but didn’t succeed to win in the league so far. FC Goa needs to improve across all department as improvement is very much necessary for the club to perform well throughout the league.
On the other hand, North East United FC have been undefeated in Indian Super League so far. In their opening match, they defeated Mumbai City FC, the team that defeated FC Goa in their last match and then Northeast United FC went on to play a draw against Kerala Blasters. The strikers of the team are scoring goals as Kwesi Appiah scored two goals from the first two matches and Highlander’s talismanic forward Idrissa Sylla also found the net in the last match.
3 INDIANS AND 3 FOREIGN PLAYERS TO LOOK OUT FOR FROM FC GOA
Seriton Fernandes, Saviour Gama and Mohammed Nawaz are the three Indians to look out in FC Goa’s camp.
Seriton had a good game against Mumbai City FC except for the yellow card. He played the full match and was equal to the task . Saviour Gama too was fantastic in the last match against Mumbai City FC. He made some interesting runs in the wings that troubled the opposition at couple of occasions. The young energetic goalkeeper Moghammed Nawaz will be a player to look out for in the upvoming match. The young Indian goalie have already established himself as a number one goalkeeper in the FC Goa’s camp. It will be interesting to watch him play in the upcoming match.
Igor Angulo, Ivan Gonzalez and James Donachie are the foreign players to watch out for in the FC Goa’s camp. Igor Angulo is well known for his scoring abilities and he proved himself once again by scoring two goals from the team’s first two matches. James Donachie and Ivan Gonzalez are the backbone of FC Goa’s defence and for the team to win this match, these two experienced defender needs to perform well.

Apuia Lalengnawia, Ninthoi Meetei and Ashutosh Mehta are the three Indian players to watch out for in the NEUFC camp.
Ninthoi Meetei have won gaffer Gerard Nus’ trust as he found himself in the playing XI of the team’s first two opening match. Ninthoi did well in thise matches and he is expected to start in the upcoming match as well. Apuia Lalengmawia has raised eyebrows in the Indian footballing circuit for his good performances ever since the last season. He is performing exceptionally well in this season too. Ashutosh Mehta has been one of the regular players for the Highlanders since the last two matches. The former Mohun Bagan wingback have found himself well in the playing XI of the team. Ashutosh’s overall performance in the competition has been good so far and he is expected to continue the same form in the upcoming match as well.
Benjamin Lambot, Dylan Fox and Kwessi Appiah will be three key players for North East United FC in the tournament. Benjamin Lambot has been able to proved his worth in the league so far with his defensive abilities. The veteran Belgian is the core of the Highlanders defense and his link up play with the other defenders have gathered appraisal so far. Dylan Fox has performed tremendously well in the league. His positioning and man-marking skills made him the Hero of the match in North East United FC’s last encounter against Kerala Blasters. The 26-year-old Aussie is expected to shine once again the upcoming match. Kwessi Appiah missed a penalty in North East United FC’s last match against Kerala Blasters but the Ghanaian international scored two goals from the first two matches. It will be interesting to watch whether he finds his scoring boots once again in the match against FC Goa as well.
