What’s the buzz?

Northeast United FC signed experienced Manipuri midfielder Milan Singh who featured in 9 matches for another ISL side Mumbai City FC last season. The 27 year old reunites with his former club after having played for Highlanders in the inaugural season of Hero Indian Super League.

The detailed matter

Milan Singh started his youth career with Tata Football Academy in 2008 and during his time with the Tata academy he was spotted by Indian heavyweight East Bengal and soon the club signed the talented midfielder.

However he went to Pailan Arrows after failing to impress the Bengal-based club and soon joined Shillong Lajong in 2013. During his tenure with the Shillong based side, Milan was approached by newly formed Indian Super League side Northeast United FC and the Manipuri midfielder signed for the club on loan.

From Northeast United FC, Milan went to DSK Shivajians and then tried his luck out with various Indian Super league side with Mumbai City FC being the latest. Milan is well known for his impressive performances for Delhi Dynamoes in 2016 which earned him a national team call up in the following year.

Milan made his debut for the senior national team in 2017 against Cambodia.

Northeast United can now breathe easy with the inclusion of Milan Singh. The club had already laid hands in some talented young players and with the coming of experienced Milan, Northeast United FC is definitely going to fight for the top spot.
