What’s the buzz?
After the signing forward Salva Chamorro, playmaker Francisco Javier Gonzalez and stopper Fran Morante another Spanish footballer by the name Joseiba Beitia joins the Mohun Bagan squad. Beitia is a central midfielder and comes with a good experience in Spanish football.
The journey so far
Joseiba Beitia started his youth career with Real Sociedad and joined their U19 team in 2010-2011 season. He was selected for the Real Sociedad B team and played in Segunda Division for three seasons. He represented Real Sociedad B team in almost 92 matches over a stay of three years.
Beitia then signed for another Spanish club CD Sarinena in 2013 and went on to play 10 matches for them.
At a time when he was struggling to get attention from other clubs, Spanish side Somozas signed him in 2014 and he represented the side in 67 matches during his two season stay with the club.
He then joined joined Marbella FC and Racing Ferrol in the next two season and succeeded to get playing time in both the clubs. He played 34 matches for Marbella FC and represented Racing Ferrol in 36 matches.
During 2017-18 season he signed for Real Union and played 21 matches for the side. It was in Real Union that Mohun Bagan scouts spotted him and he signed for the Indian club this season.
What’s next?
Mohun Bagan have invested their money in Spanish players this season. Joseiba Beitia will bring quality to the side and his inclusion in the squad will definitely make Mohun Bagan one of the club to watch out for in the upcoming Hero I league season.
