Mumbai City FC announce the signing of former Tunisia National Team Forward

The Islanders have created a buzz in the transfer window with the signing of Tunisian international Amine Chermiti. Amine plays as a striker but can play as winger too. He can play anywhere in the front three. He is a left footed player.

The 31 year old has played for many clubs around the world. He started his youth career at JS Kairouan. In 2006, he signed for Etoile Sahel. He stayed there for 2 years. Then he played for German club Hertha BSC. He was loaned to Ittihad Jeddah in 2009.

He joined FC Zurich in 2010. He stayed there for 5 years. He also played in Champions League and Europe League. He became first Tunisian player to score hattrick in Europe League. He scored many goals for them where he played more than 100 matches.

In 2016, He played in Ligue 1 (France Top Division) with Gazelec Ajaccio. Then he played for two Asian clubs in Al Arabi and Al-Fayha. Before joining Al-Fayhe, he played for Tunisian Club ES Sahel.

In 2007, He won CAF Champions League with ES Sahel. He scored 8 goals in the CAF Champions League and was awarded as CAF Africa based player of the year 2007. While on-loan from German club Hertha Berlin, Chermiti grabbed a runners-up medal in the Asian Champions League with Saudi side Al-Ittihad in 2009.

Chermiti has scored six goals in 35 senior caps for the Tunisian national team. He has scored goals in Africa Cup of Nations.

Islanders have made some stunning signings this season. Amine becomes their 5th foreigner. It will be interesting to see who will be the next two foreign signings of Mumbai City FC.
