NorthEast United FC will clash against FC Goa tonight at Tilak Maidan, Goa.

NorthEast United FC performance sparked since Khalid Jamil took over as interim coach after sacking of Spanish head-coach Gerard Nus. The Highlanders defeated mighty ATK Mohun Bagan and Mumbai City FC in last two matches and will look to continue their winning run.

On the other hand, FC Goa are unbeaten too in last 7 games. Even after being having a balanced squad they were unsuccessful to grab three points in some games. The Gaurs stand forth in the points table with 21 points and will look to grab three crucial points in this tough test.

3 INDIAN PLAYERS TO WATCHOUT FOR

Apuia, Mashoor Shereef and Dheeraj Singh will be the three Indian players to watchout for

Apuia will have a crucial role in the midfield to create chances and also to defend. Mashoor has been delivering spectacular performance for the Highlanders in the defensive-line blocking shots and making important interceptions alongside Benjamin Lambot. Newly signed, Dheeraj Singh will have the responsibility to guard the goal and keep a clean sheet for the Gaurs.

3 FOREIGN PLAYERS TO WATCHOUT FOR

Igor Angulo, Jorge Ortiz and Deshorn Brown will be the foreign names to lookout in the match.

Igor Angulo is leading the top goal scorer list in the league and it’s sure that he will try his best to snatch the points from NorthEast United FC. Ortiz has been playing the role of pivot in Gaurs squad creating chances and cutting into the box from wings. He will be looking to continue his same form. On the other hand, the fierce striker Deshorn Brown will ensure he keeps going on his goalscoring streak.

Both the side clashed against each other for 13 times in which two times Highlanders won while five time the Gaurs. Six matches ended in draw.

TEAM NEWS

Due to minor fitness and injury concerns, Ashutosh Mehta and Dylan Fox may miss the match. The rest of squad is available for selection by Khalid Jamil.

Meanwhile, FC Goa will miss Edu Bedia due to suspension. Brandon Fernandes is injured as per update given by head-coach Juan Ferrando in pre-match press conference. Seriton Fernandes is expected to return and make appearance while newly signed Amarjit Singh Kiyam and Glan Martins will be available but it seems like they will be used as substitutes if needed.
