Northeast United are in advanced talks with former Crystal Palace forward Kwesi Appiah, IFTWC can confirm.
After roping in Benjamin Lambot, Khassa Camara and Luis Machado, Northeast United are looking to strengthen their forward line. They have retained their star midfielder Federico Gallego as well. The 30 years old English born Ghanaian striker, Kwesi Appiah comes with lot of experience. Kwesi has played for Crystal Palace who play in the English Premier League. Kwesi failed to make an impact and made only few appearances for the Eagles. But he got many opportunities when the club from London loaned him out.
After leaving Crystal Palace permanently, Kwesi joined AFC Wimbledon who play in League One (Third tier of English football). He scored 17 goals for AFC Wimbledon in last 3 seasons. Kwesi made his international debut in 2015 under Avram Grant. Gerard Nus, head coach of Northeast United was the assistant coach of Ghana National team during that time. Kwesi has scored 2 international goals in 7 appearances. His goals came against Mauritania and Guinea.
Northeast United are gearing up for the upcoming season and have made some interesting signings so far. It will be interesting to see if Gerard Nus and his team can take the Highlanders brigade towards their first ever title.
