Northeast United has signed Bengaluru FC’s developmental player Emanuel Lalchhanchhuaha on a 3-plus year deal, IFWTC can confirm. Due to an existing contract between Bengaluru and the player, Northeast had to pay more than 10 lakhs INR for his transfer.
The 19-year-old midfielder played for U-Mumba U-19s before being scouted by Bengaluru and signed. He has represented them at various youth levels, including the U-18 team and the reserves team. Emanuel was in the Bengaluru FC squad last season but did not make any first-team appearances.
He was also adjudged as the Bengaluru FC U18 Player of the Year in 2020. A promising prospect, the midfielder will surely be a player to watch out for in the upcoming season. Considering the massive transfer fee paid for the 19-year-old by Northeast, the management will be looking for big things from the youngster as well.
After losing out on star players Lalengmawia Apuia and Dylan Fox, Northeast United FC has been actively pursuing Indian players to build for the future. Joe Zoherilana has been signed from Bengaluru FC, as well as Jestin George and Mohammed Irshad. Tondonba Singh will also join the Highlanders from Mumbai City FC. Northeast United fans have lots to look forward to in the upcoming season with a plethora of young players dotted throughout the squad led by Khalid Jamil.
