Official-Rahul K.P. to stay at Kerala Blasters till 2025

Kerala Blasters announced the contract extension of Rahul KP and he will be staying at the Kochi-based club till 2025.

Rahul, who was a part of the U17 World Cup squad is one of the most promising young Indian footballers. He started all three world cup matches under the Portuguese gaffer, Luis Norton-de Matos.

The Thrissur-born attacker joined the club last year after two impressive seasons with the developmental side Indian Arrows.

He made his I-league debut against Chennai City FC and his first goal came against Shillong Lajong FC.

During his stint, Rahul wore the Arrows outfit for 39 matches with 5 goals to his name. He scored a beautiful goal against Mumbai City FC in the Super cup, however a late strike from the Islanders shattered Indian Arrows dreams for the tournament.

2019-20 season was his first year in ISL and he played 8 matches in total with 383 minutes on the field and added one goal against Hyderabad FC to his name.

The 20 year old joined his home club initially on a 2 year deal and now has extended it till 2025.

New head coach Kibu Vicuña is already impressed with him as he quoted earlier, “Rahul KP is a very good player. He is really fast, can play in different positions, the left, on the right, as a winger, the second striker. “

Kerala Blasters are home to three U17 World Cuppers and are definitely striving for the future.
