Jamshedpur FC lost to a handicapped Kerala Blasters who were down to ten men after Lalruatthara being sent off. Jordan Murray and Nerijus Valskis both scored a brace and Costa Nhamoinesu made his mark by scoring his first goal of the ISL.
Owen Coyle said,
“They put forth a better show when they were down to ten men and the extra man advantage for us caused lapse of concentration. But we came roaring back 3-2 and looking at the overall balance of the game, be it ten men or eleven men, we didn’t deserve to lose the game. But ultimately, if you’re going to give soft goals away, you’re going to get punished.”
When asked if the team was dependent on Nerijus Valskis on scoring goals, Owen Coyle said,
“(Other) people have stepped up (as well). That’s just a random throw away because Valskis has scored goals, Stephen Eze has scored goals, Aniket has scored goals, other boys have hit the woodwork and tonight we hit it three times, Jacki and Mobashir. So, for the question, Valskis is an outstanding striker, yes. Angulo is an outstanding striker, yes. Of course, other people can also step up as well.”
While TP Rehenesh has consecutively proved to be outstanding this season, there were a couple of mistakes from him that led to the goal tonight. Owen Coyle agreed to that point and said that these sorts of mistakes will happen to any player at all, even strikers and that these players should learn to pick themselves up and get ready for the next match.
Owen Coyle also hinted that David Grande and Nick Fitzgerald will hopefully play in the next game.
Owen Coyle signed off.
