ATK Mohun Bagan are back on top of the Indian Super League table after picking up a comprehensive victory against Northeast United FC. Roy Krishna’s diving header and an unfortunate own goal from Belgian Centre Back Benjamin Lambot gave the Mariners their 6th win of the season.

ATK Mohun Bagan

Arindam – 7.5

Arindam has been ATKMB’s number 1 for a while now. The 31 year old keeps making crucial saves whenever he is called into the action. Arindam has the best defense in the league infront of him but that doesn’t keep him away from focusing on the game. Arindam had a good outing yet again against Northeast United.

Pritam Kotal – 7

A vital presence in habas’s defensive organization, Pritam is putting in some great performances for ATK Mohunbagan. Pritam has excelled under the Spaniard’s system. This system is helping Pritam to concentrate more on the defensive part of the game. Today also he did his job without making any notable Mistakes.

Sandesh Jhingan – 7.5

It was another outstanding game in the colours of his new club for Sandesh Jhingan. A flawless performance yet again from the 27 year old Indian International. The Tiri-Jhingan Partnership has only conceded 3 goals so far this season. That speaks volumes about the duo’s performance and consistency

Tiri – 7.5

The Spaniard is the key to ATK Mohun Bagan’s defensive success. The left footed centre back has been one of the best signings for ATK Mohun Bagan this season. His partnership along with Sandesh Jhingan has been mesmerizing. Their understanding and defensive capabilities is one of the main reasons why ATK Mohun Bagan are consistently picking up all three points.

Subhashish Bose – 7

The Fullback has found his name on the teamsheet ever since Michael Soosairaj got injured. Antonio Habas likes to attack through his wingbacks. Soosairaj and Prabir Das used to make a lot of attacking runs towards the opposition through the flanks. But Subhashish is a defensive left back. His reluctance to go forwards has affected ATK Mohun Bagan in a good way so far. By staying back most of the time Subhashish bose closes out the spaces and makes their defense even harder to break

Prabir Das – 7.5

Prabir Das played like a proper right winger in today’s encounter against Northeast United FC. Prabir made a lot of dangerous runs into scoring positions. Prabir was relieved of his defensive duties by Pritam so he was playing with a lot of freedom which boosted his confidence and performance. Prabir looked threatining with the freedom he was given at right wing and it will not be a surprise if he starts scoring in the upcoming fixtures.

Carl Mchugh – 7.5

The unsung hero of ATK Mohun Bagan. Carl Mchugh works tirlessly in the middle of the park. He sits in front of the backline shielding them from the opposition’s menacing attacks. Carl Mchugh is very important in the way ATKMB Play. He Breaks up play by making crucial interceptions and blocks. Mchugh also accurately finds his attackers to initiate attacks as well. He is having an amazing season with the mariners.

SK Sahil – 6.5

The highly rated Bengali younster got his first start in the Indian Super League against Northeast United Fc. Sahil wasn’t upto the task today as he didn’t manage to create an impact on the game.

Edu Garcia – 7

The Spanish wizard is the linchpin of ATK Mohun Bagan’s attack. Edu Garcia’s corner kicks resulted in both the goals for his side.

David Williams – 7

The Aussie was lively in today’s contest as well. David Williams has made the left wing spot his own. Williams didn’t get many opportunities to score as he worked more on the creative part. He went deep to collect the ball and battled with Northeast United’s rightback untill he was replaced by Bradden Inman.

Roy Krishna – 8

Roy Krishna proved his quality yet again. He scored the first goal with an amazing header which went beyond Gurmeet in a flash. He is now currently tied with Jamshedpur’s Nerijus Valskis and Mumbai City FC’s Adam La Fondre in the Golden Boot table by scoring 6 goals. What makes Krishna different from other strikers in the league is his workrate. Roy Krishna never stops running, He continuously presses the opposition and fights for the ball throughout the entire match.

SUBS:- Pronay – 6.5, Bradden Inman – No Rating, Glan Martins – 6.5, Manvir Singh – 6.5

NORTHEAST UNITED FC

Gurmeet – 7

The youngster unfortunately had nothing to do in both the goals he conceded. He would be very upset about letting in the Own Goal. Gurmeet is future prospect and is one of the most talented and upcoming keepers in the league.

Ashutosh Mehta – 7

Ashutosh had a good game against ATK Mohun Bagan. He was able to contain David williams from getting into dangerous positions. Eventhough he was on three yellow cards Ashutosh did his job without any pressure.

Benjamin Lambot – 6.5

The Big centre back from Belgium was yet again upto his standard. But things changed drastcially in the 57 minute of match when he unfortuntely put the ball inside his own goal. His own goal made ATK Mohun Bagan’s lead unassailable considering their Defensive prowess.

Dylan Fox – 7.5

One of the standout performer for the Northeast was the Australian Central defender Dylan Fox. His clearences and neat tackles made scoring from open play difficult for ATKMB.

Provat Lakra – 6.5

Lakra came into the starting lineup replacing Gurjinder. The right footed fullback found it very difficult to play in the left back spot. He made many mistakes and lost possession very easily. As the minutes went on, He slowly got used to his new role but Coach Gerard Nus didn’t take any chances. The spaniard replaced Lakra in the second half .

Apuia – 6.5

The Promising youngster wasn’t in the thick of the action in the clash against ATK Mohun Bagan. Apuia looks a bit short on confidence in the last two matches which is not helping him perform to his potential.

Khassa Camara – 7

The Mauritanian International again had a decent game. Camara intercepted and blocked off crucial attacks by sitting in front of the back 4. Camara has had better games than this in the Indian Super League but still the 28 year old’s performance was satisfactory

Federico Gallego – 7

Gallego provided the creative push to Northeast United FC’s attacks. But unfortunately for the Uruguayan Midfielder, His creative passes and movements couldn’t break the strong ATK Mohun Bagan Defense. If Gallego finds his old form back Northeast United will benefit immensly and climb further up the points table.

Rochharzela – 7

The exiciting winger was once again trusted and given an opportunity by coach Gerard Nus. Chhara had a few openings in which he could have troubled ATK Mohun Bagan’s Goalkeeper but sadly it just wasn’t his day.

VP Suhair – 6.5

The Kerala born attacker was very closely watched by the tough ATK Mohun Bagan defense. Suhair didn’t get much space to showcase his abilities as he was easily marked and kept out of the game by the opposition. Like Chhara and Apuia, VP Suhair is also an important asset for Northeast United FC. Suhair needs to find his form back to help his side pick up points in the upcoming fixtures

Idrissa Sylla – 6.5

ATK Mohun Bagan’s defense was able to keep Sylla quiet for the entire match. The Guniean Striker is yet to find the net after he scored a late eqauliser against kerala Blasters early in the season
