Search for their first win continues as FC Goa hand Kerala Blasters another disappointing defeat
FC Goa registered their first victory in the ISL this season against Kerala Blasters who were thrashed by the Gaurs on a 3-1 defeat. Both the teams were aiming for their first win this season, however, the three points went for the home side.
FC Goa dominated the match with quick counterattacks and errors from the men in blue facilitated Spanish striker Igor Angulo to find back of the net twice added by another goal from playmaker Jorge Ortiz Mendoza. Defensive midfielder Vicente Gomes scored the lone goal for Blasters who are yet to find the three points after four matches.

Juan Fernando’s boys were looking for their first victory this season and were granted! A three-goal victory against Kerala Blasters marks the first win for Juan Ferrando in the ISL. Let’s jump into the ratings of Gaurs!
Mohammed Nawaz – 7.5/10:
The 20-year-old Manipuri custodian was the only player to play all minutes for Goa last season. He was seen taking the help of the physio twice after collisions. Apart from that Nawas had a decent game but his clean sheet was broken by Vicente Gomes at the eleventh hour. Facing six shots at his post, he made three clearances in total. We give him a 7.5.
Seriton Fernandes – 7/10:
Seriton was included in 29 passes out of which 20 were successful with an accuracy of 69% also had two successful interceptions and kept the defence locked.
James Donachie – 8/10:
The Australian defender completed 31 passes and had made 5 clearances throughout the game and coordinated well.
Ivan Gonzalez – 7.5/10:
In the 90 minutes, Ivan completed 32 of 48 passes he attempted with an accuracy of 67% and made 5 clearances.
Savior Gama – 7.5/10:
The young lad was seen all in all yesterday both in the defence and attack. He also provided the assist to one of FC Goa’s goals. With a total of 33 passes that he attempted, 21 were completed with an accuracy of 64% and also won the winning pass of the match award.
Lenny Rodriguez – 8/10:
Lenny, with a passing accuracy of 77% completed 23 passes and has made successful tackles and interceptions for his team. Lenny was awarded the title of Hero Of The Match.
Edu Bedia – 8/10:
Captain Edu Bedia led from the front with some lightning attacks which shook KBFC defence last night. Out of the 76 passes he made,57 were completed with an accuracy of 75%.
Alexander Jesuraj – 7.5/10:
In the 76 minutes he played, the midfielder created 2 chances. He made 23 passes out of which 14 were completed with an accuracy of 61%.
Brandon Fernandes – 8.5/10:
Goan boy had an assist to his name last night at Fatorda. He created 3 chances for the Gaurs and completed 23 passes with 64% passing accuracy. Brandon doing Brandon things!
Jorge Ortiz Mendoza – 8/10:
Ortiz was one of the key players for FC Goa last night. From the begging, he was seen charging on to the posts with some great efforts. He scored his first goal of the season in the 51st minute of the game and was later substituted by Alberto Noguera in the 70th minute. The player completed 16 passes with an accuracy of 55% and had 3 shots on target.
Igor Angulo – 9.5/10:
The Spanish Center forward has a great day at work last night netting 2 goals to his name and he is now at the forefront of the race for the golden boot with 5 goals to his name this season. With 65% of passing accuracy, he completed 11 passes and won three points for his team.
