Player ratings — Jamshedpur FC vs Odisha FC

On the 10th matchday of Hero Indian Super League season 7, Jamshedpur FC and Odisha FC came to blows at the Tilak Maidan Stadium, Vasco in search of their maiden points in the competition. Two braces from Nerijus Valskis and Diego Mauricio settled the game for all squares and the two sides shared a point each.

An early handball from Gaurav Bora inside the box, earned the Red Miners a penalty kick which was sent successfully to the back of the net by Valskis. Again during the 27th minute a defensive error from Subham Sarangi led to a dribble in and a second goal for Lithuanian and Jamshedpur FC. The first half performance had nothing to be proud of, for the Juggernauts.

At an hour mark, Diego Mauricio came in for Manuel Onwu and equations started favouring the Bhubaneswar based side a bit more. On the 74th minute, while trying to stop a ball from Mauricio, TP Rehenesh came inches outside the box which made him see the red card. Tables turned afterwards as Diego Mauricio converted the immediate free kick into a goal.

During the 6 added minutes of injury time, Odisha midfielders supplied a couple of dangerous crosses to the JFC box. With less than 4 minutes left, a long sniping kick from Diego Mauricio Machado found the back of the net and one point for Stuart Baxter’s side.

Diego Mauricio was the Hero of the match for his amazing performance under pressure while Hendry Antonay was the Indian player of the game for his extensive presence in both halves of the pitch. We rate both the teams and their players out of 10 which is as follows.
