Player Ratings – SC East Bengal vs Odisha FC


SC East Bengal registered their first ISL win with the commanding performance against Odisha FC. The first goal came from the SC East Bengal side by Anthony Pilkington in 12th minute of the game. Maghoma made the score line to 2-0 by scoring a goal in 39th minute of the game. While Odisha FC players made numerous attempts to score goals by making crosses from wings and attacking from centre. In last minutes of the game, the newly signed foreigner Bright Enobakhare scored a goal in 88th minute of the game. Unfortunately, East Bengal cannot keep the clean-sheet as due to a deflection took place into the box and the goal was recorded in name of Diego Mauricio.

Robbie Fowler opted for 4-4-2 formation while Stuart Baxter chose 4-3-3 formation. Let’s have a look at how players fared in the game –


Debjit Majumder – 7.5/10

Majumder showed his excellent performance in the goal today. He faced 7 shots on the goal and saved 6. He played a crucial role also making 6 punches and 2 catches. We rate him 7.5 for his performance.

Raju Gaikwad – 7/10

Playing 73 minutes of the game Raju Gaikwad assisted once for the goal. Defensively, he made 2 clearances and 2 successful interceptions.

Scott Neville – 7.5/10

Scott Neville was solid as rock at the back as he made 3 tackles and some important clearances. His presence in defence was very appreciable as he made some pacy runs on the wings also.

Daniel Fox – 7.5/10

Fox played an influential role defensively. He made 5 clearances and 2 successful tackles, with 1 block. He covered all the defensive areas ensuring that Odisha FC doesn’t get the chance to get into the box.

Matti Steinmann – 7.5/10

Midfielder Steinmann was seen a free role as he made runs while attacking and dropped deep down when the team defended. With 82% passing accuracy he also made 4 clearances and assisted for a goal. We rate him 7.5 for his performance.

Mohammad Rafique – 7/10

Rafique wasn’t too successful to impress on the field as he just made a shot but off the target.

Jacques Maghoma – 8/10

Maghoma made his best attempts to force Odisha FC’s defence to make mistakes. He made a shot on target which was the goal in 39th minute of the game.

Anthony Pilkington – 8/10

Playing whole match, Pilkington didn’t fail to entertain the fans for sure. Creating one sole chance he scored a goal. He also made 2 crosses. We rate him 8 out of 10.

Bikash Jairu – 7/10

Bikash Jairu played his role well by making 2 successful tackles, 3 successful interceptions, 3 clearances and 3 blocks. Making some pacy runs on the wings he made 3 crosses.

Milan Singh – 7/10

Milan Singh played 62 minutes of the game. In a tackle made he was shown a yellow card.

Haobam Singh – 6.5/10

Playing whole the first half, surprisingly Haobam made just 12 touches in the field. Neither he showed his presence in defence nor in the attacking positions.
