Kerala Blasters have extended the contract of Prabhsukhan Gill, IFTWC can confirm.
Prabhsukhan Singh Gill has been a force to be reckoned with for Kerala Blasters this season. The custodian replaced Albino Gomes after the former was ruled out after sustaining an injury. The former Indian Arrows goalkeeper also got a National Team call-up owing to his consistent run of form for the Blasters.
“Prabhsukhan Singh Gill has extended his contract with Kerala Blasters for two more years,” a source close to the developments informed IFTWC.
Kerala Blasters were keen to extend his contract as his previous deal was about to expire. They wasted no time securing signature before any club would snatch on to him. Gill has penned down a 2-year-deal with the club and will get a much deserving pay raise.
The 21-year-old goalkeeper from Ludhiana started his career at the famous Chandigarh Football Academy before joining the AIFF Elite Academy, followed by a stint at the Indian Arrows. Former ISL champions Bengaluru FC roped him in 2019, but he couldn’t prove his worth there. The Blasters signed him on a 2-year-deal in September 2020.
Prabhsukhan has kept six clean sheets this season, having faced 56 shots on target. According to fbref, he has the highest save percentage of 71.7%, followed by Laxmikant Kattmani with 70.8%.
The Blasters finally managed to qualify for the playoffs after six years. The club management and coach Ivan Vukomanovic are determined to keep this run going and have started strengthening their squad for the future.
