2. Alan Costa

Bengaluru FC

Last season, Costa played for the Brazilian football club Avai where he played 29 games and scored 3 goals as a center-back. He won the Campeonato Catarinense- a major football competition from the State football association of Santa Catarina. He has also won Campeonato Baiano in 2017 with Vitoria and Campeonato Gaucho with Internacional for 3 consecutive seasons and has also won Recopa Gaucha with them. This season Costa has featured in all of the AFC Cup games for BFC.

Alan Costa is a ball-playing center-back who is rock-solid defensively. In Marco’s style of play he is going to be crucial in keeping possession and providing through balls to full-backs which will play a very important part in initiating counter-attacks. When it comes to the defensive phase of the game his speed and accuracy will help the team to stop quick attacks as well.

He is not a defender who loses his cool very easily and remains concentrated during one-on-one situations in the penalty box. Being dominant in the air he wins aerial duels easily and scores headers as well. Considering all the qualities of Costa, it is safe to assume that the Brazilian might prove to be a good replacement for Juanan.
