Bright Enobakhare continued to show his class for second time in a row this season with a scintillating solo goal but FC Goa showed an amazing mentality to equalise within two minutes of that goal. It was Devendra Murgaonkar who netted the ball with an outstanding assist from Gama. Fox took a red card as a result of a reckless challenge from his side.
Robbie Fowler expressed his delightfulness. He said,
“I’m actually delighted. We’ve played against a good team here. We could have had more possession and I feel we deserved it. We had more clearcut chances than FC Goa. Our boys were undoubtedly brilliant, especially going down to ten men. I’m delighted with the point, but we’d always want a bit more.
“We’ve got the heart, we’ve got the desire and we’ll compete with anyone. Our players dealt with the overall pressure. I think it’s been a really incredible performance.”
On Bright Enobakhare, Robbie Fowler said,
“We’ve seen him on the pitch, he enjoys the Football. He’s a really skilful player. He’s in control of most things that he does. I enjoy watching players like that, who gets you onto the edge of the seat and he brings an awful lot to the team.”
Robbie Fowler also confirmed that Anthony Pilkington is injured and that the reason for benching Maghoma was because he was returning from an injury.
Robbie Fowler further disagreed on the statement that his team has been failing to convert goals, and states a few examples as to the goals they have scored from set-plays this season and he signed off.
