RoundGlass Punjab FC has completed the signings of 22-year-old defender Nikhil Prabhu and 25-year-old midfielder Kingslee Fernandes ahead of the upcoming season, IFTWC can confirm.
Newly promoted side RoundGlass Punjab has already begun their business in the transfer market as they have completed the signings of 2 unique talents, Defender Nikhil Prabhu from FC Goa and midfielder Kingslee Fernandes from Churchill Brothers FC who was also the captain of the side in I-League.
Nikhil Prabhu began his professional career in the 2018-19 season with the U-18 side of Pune City FC and after a year with them, he soon moved to the Hyderabad FC 2nd team and was promoted to the first team in the 2020-21 season but didn’t even get to play a minute with the nizams and was not satisfied with them.
In the 2021-22 season, Nikhil moved to Odisha on a loan deal. He spent a season with the Juggernauts and was finally getting some minutes which paved the way to showcase his true potential, which made FC Goa interested in acquiring Nikhil’s services. As expected he was transferred to the Gaurs.
He played a total of 8 matches for the Gaurs and also bagged 2 goals for them. He was expected to stay with the club until the end of the 2023-24 season but that is when RoundGlass Punjab came into the deal and sealed the signing off.
25-year-old Kingslee Fernandes was a product of Clube Vasco de Gama and it was in the 2016-17 season when he first met with Churchill Brothers FC, it was the U-18 team he was signed for and soon he was promoted to the senior team when he was aimed by FC Goa and signed him for their 2nd team and like in his previous clubs knowing his talent, he was promoted to the senior team of the Gaurs in the 2019-20 season.
During his time in Goa, he was lucky enough to experience winning the League Shield Winners in the 2019-20 season A season later, Churchill Brothers FC signed him in the 2020-21 season and has been playing for the I-League side since then and also left the team now as the captain.
