Kerala Blasters are set to sign Sanjeev Stalin from Portuguese club Sertanense.
The fullback from Bengaluru joined Portuguese Primeira Liga club C.D Aves before the start of the current season. But he failed to get any sort of gametime in the Portuguese club. Sanjeev decided to try his luck and moved to Sertanense on loan in search of some minutes on the field.
Before joining the Portuguese clubs, Sanjeev was a vital cog in the Indian Arrows set-up. He made his mark in the Hero I-League and played in most of the games. Stalin impressed everyone with his bombing runs on the flanks.
Stalin was part of junior Indian teams before joining Indian Arrows. The 20 years old fullback was part of the squad which made historic participation in the U17 World Cup in 2017. Even after being a fullback, Stalin still managed to find the back of the net couple of times.
Kerala Blasters made the headlines before the start of the season when they announced the signing of Nishu Kumar for a reported fee of 5cr, but the fullback from Muzaffarnagar failed to match the expectations. Kibu Vicuna kept changing the partnership of fullbacks throughout the season. Kerala Blasters would be hoping that boy who was once scouted by Iranian coach Jamshid Nassiri would help them to solve their defensive woes.
