Sauvik started playing football from the age of eight at the Yubajagaran football coaching centre. After representing Mohun Bagan in the Hero I-League, he made his debut in the Hero ISL with Delhi Dynamos FC in the 2014 season. He helped Dynamos grab eyeballs in 2015 and 2016, finishing as a semi-finalist in both seasons. In 2017,Chakrabarti plied his trade for debutants Jamshedpur FC.
Sauvik joined Mumbai City FC in 2018. He signed a three year deal. It will be interesting to see how much amount of transfer fee is involved since Sauvik has 2 years remaining in his contract with Mumbai City FC. Sauvik played vital role in the success of Mumbai City FC as they finished 3rd in the league stage.
Sauvik has vast amount of experience of playing top division football. Sauvik played for Mohun Bagan, Air India, United S.C., Delhi Dynamos, Jamshedpur FC and Mumbai City FC most recently. Sauvik can play as right back, left back and Central defensive midfielder. It will be interesting to see how Sauvik performs when he will don ATK’s jersey next season.
