As a young team lad, what are your takeaways from your senior mates in this season?
I got to learn a lot of things from the senior players. Going to practice with these kinds of quality players improves my game day by day. The biggest learning, I would say is that I have learnt to be calm and confident.
Training oneself under a pandemic is hectic. But how did you get the better off the situation and make yourself comfortable in this bio-bubble secure?
It was very difficult to be in a hotel in one room alone and just go out for training and matches only. However, at the same time, I was waiting for the preseason and matches to start. So that’s what kept me going. I was very happy that at least we would get to play this season and now I am focussed to give my best and help the team reclaim the league shield.
What are your current challenges in your gameplay and how would you grapple and get benefited?
We have a lot of confidence in ourselves. We will fight for everything until the end. I want to improve a lot in the attacking areas and help my team by giving assists. I feel if I focus on these details, I’ll get more confidence and be the best in my duties on the field.
FC Goa’s the first Indian Team to qualify for ACL, so how happy the news is to you as you’d be playing as a vital-cog for your team in such big tournaments?
The AFC Champions League is a big competition, and I’m very happy that we became the first team from India to qualify for the group stages. I’m excited, just like everyone else in the team as it will be a big challenge for all of us.
From which player in this league do you think it’s hard to win the ball?
There are many players who are very good with the ball. For me, the biggest trouble maker is Jorge Ortiz. I’m lucky that he is on our team.
Whom do you idolize in football and why?
My idol is Mandar Rao Dessai. He is a great person and I learnt a lot from him. He has always supported me and has helped me in my journey so far.
