Nepali international Ananta Tamang has completed his transfer to SC East Bengal, signing his contract till the end of the season. The 24-year old defender will don the prestigious red and gold colours with 4 games left in the league.
Ananta was a regular part of the junior set-ups for the Nepalese national team, playing in multiple underage tournaments. He was an important member of the Nepal side in the 2015 U19 SAFF Championship who won the tournament as hosts. He has 2 goals in 43 appearances for the Senior side.
The Centre-back spent a season in Spain with the Marbella FC Academy in 2017-18. He has plied his trade for Nepali top division side for Three Star FC from 2018. East Bengal secured his signature on a free transfer.
The 5 ft 10 in defender is a big threat from set-pieces and has a reputation of scoring headers, which gives Head Coach Mario Rivera another option to pick from in his leaky defense.
