Amarjit Singh Kiyam has completed a switch to SC East Bengal from FC Goa on a loan deal, IFTWC can confirm.

Captain of the Indian Team that played in the U-17 World Cup, Amarjit played for Indian Arrows in the I-League for a season before joining Jamshedpur FC in 2018. Amarjit was loaned back to the Arrows the same season, and finally, in 2019 he made his ISL debut for the Red Miners. Earlier this year, he joined FC Goa after spending one and a half seasons at Jamshedpur.

The 20-year-old started two games and made two appearances from the bench in the AFC Champions League for FC Goa. Amarjit has also played five times for the Indian Senior Team since debuting in 2019.

With multiple established and top midfielders in the Gaurs squad, playing time at FC Goa would have been hard to come by for young Amarjit. The 20-year-old is considered one of the most exciting young midfielders in India currently, and SC East Bengal will be happy to have a player of his caliber on a loan deal in their roster.

Following a conclusion to the tussle between investors Shree Cement and East Bengal club, SCEB find themselves with very little time on the market to assemble a competitive squad. Due to the departure of the majority of players from last season, SC East Bengal will need to make active moves in the transfer market to field a competitive team in the upcoming ISL season. They have till now completed the signings of Jackichand Singh and Sourav Das, both from Mumbai City FC.
