Mumbai City FC notched a comfortable win over Bengaluru FC on a two goal margin. The solitary goal for Bengaluru FC was scored by Sunil Chhetri through a penalty and the scorers for Mumbai City FC were Mourtada Fall, Bipin Singh and Bartholomew Ogbeche.
In the post match press conference, Sergio Lobera said,
“I’m very happy, because we were able to implement what we spoke before the game and the players did well. For Bengaluru FC’s set-pieces, we knew they were really good in this aspect and my assistant coach had learnt very well about it. And I’m very happy that we’ve scored good goals tonight.”
Ahmed Jahouh picked up a double yellow card tonight and will be suspended for the next match against ATK Mohun Bagan, this will be the second time Ahmed Jahouh will be getting suspended in this season. Sergio Lobera said,
“Obviously (it is a matter of concern for us). But he is a very good player. He is well experienced but he needs to learn to not getting himself into such situations. We’re not going to have him for the next game and I think he could have avoided getting that yellow card.”
Much like the previous post-match press conference, Sergio Lobera agreed that dominating the game in the first half is an important objective for them and that he is very happy with the teamwork the players had put in. He also reckoned that dominating the game throughout is a factor that he’d like to work on further ahead in this season.
Sergio Lobera continued,
“My job is to bring all the Indian players to their fullest potential, Bipin Singh played well tonight. But, the most important thing is the quality of execution and the team is working very well on that aspect.”
Sergio Lobera signed off.
