The Man who led FC Goa to the Super Cup title, 3 consecutive Playoffs of the Indian Super League and an historic spot in the AFC Champions League has definitely proved his mettle in the Indian Circuit. After Sergio Lobera parted ways with FC Goa in the recent season, he has been the most sought after name. He has instilled a different brand on football in his ex team, and his philosophy was lauded by many pundits of Indian Football.
As per sources Sergio has been approached by 2 big ISL clubs. The first of it is Jamshedpur FC who have submitted their offer after having a dismal season as they ended on the 8th position. Sergio has not reverted back anything yet as Mumbai City FC have also expressed their interest in appointing him as their head coach. MCFC ended at the 5th position last season as they missed out the Semi Final spot by close margins. The then Mumbai coach, Jorge Costa was sacked soon after the season ended.
After the acquisition of MCFC by the City Football Group, they are expected to make big transfers this season. In fact, the presence of CFG might divert Lobera’s move towards the Mumbai based club. Allegedly, there are some shortcomings regarding the backroom staff that might be sorted out in the course of next week.
