Mumbai City FC saw themselves sharing the spoils with Hyderabad FC tonight in a goalless draw, unlike the match between the both during the first round of the Indian Super League. Amrinder Singh had to make sure that he was on his toes as he had to deal with six goal-scoring chances created by Hyderabad FC tonight.
Sergio Lobera said,
“I think Hyderabad FC played well and we didn’t play upto our usual standards, and I think the draw is a fair result. We obviously want to win all the games and I’m not happy tonight. But the way the match progressed, this result is fine.”
Sergio Lobera further stated that his team weren’t comfortable in the pitch as Hyderabad FC were a team with a similar style of play as that of Mumbai City FC’s.
Sergio Lobera hinted that Hugo Boumous may not have fully recovered from his injury as the reason to why the player didn’t get on to the pitch,
“I try to avoid risk, I want my players to play when they’re fully fit. Or else I may lose them for a longer period of time.”
Sergio Lobera disagreed to the statement that his team may have not won the game tonight because of the absence of some key players and emphasized that his team is full of quality players who can fill-in for others’ shoes as well.
Sergio Lobera also disagreed to the statement that his team his failing to be clinical against teams with good tactical abilities,
“We are the team with the highest number of goals scored in this season. That’s more important. We are creating a lot of good chances and tonight we just couldn’t convert them. If we create more chances, we will definitely score goals.”
Sergio Lobera signed off.
