Interim coach Khalid Jamil addressed the media in post-match press conference and shared his thoughts on the match.
“The players are working very hard. I just told them to play in the way they always do. We played against them thinking they are the best team in the league who are at top of the table. We got two early goals and kept the ball to ourselves as much as possible.”
“Mumbai also tried their best as they have the best quality players. We knew this wasn’t the easy game,” he added.
Speaking upon Brown’s brace who nearly missed hat-trick,
“I know Deshorn is one of the strikers who never thoughts of goals, but he always thinks about the team.”
Commenting on Apuia performance today, Jamil said,
“Frankly speaking, the truth about him is, he is one of the best midfielders in India now. In every match, he plays with full energy and the same rhythm. In my playing career till now I have never seen a player like him.”
Jamil signed off.
Mumbai City FC’s gaffer Sergio Lobera said,
“We lost concentration. It was a difficult start for us and our reactions were not good, but we need to learn from this itself and improve.”
“In last minutes, we choose to play 4-1-2-3 and created many chances and scored a goal too. I think we also would have made second one. But, today NorthEast already decided the game and they won,” he added.
Mumbai City FC lost both the league game against NorthEast United FC. Addressing the same, Lobera said,
“I think both the games were different as you can see. In the first leg and now also they played very good attacking football.”
