Ahead of the clash against Chennaiyin FC, Mumbai City FC’s head-coach Sergio Lobera and winger Jackichand Singh addressed the media in a pre-match press conference.

Mumbai City FC is the team who are currently unbeaten from 11 games. Speaking upon the team’s performance, Lobera said,

We are working hard and making a winning team. There has been a lot of job behind us during these times. We have very good stats and numbers in performance. I am happy with our position in the table. But, we need to keep improving and getting three points is my target as a coach.

Also, I am very proud of the attitude of the players. The most important thing for me to finish the chances we have and score goals. It’s not only about the result or to improve possession, but it’s all about to improve our level of play,” he added.

Commenting on the challenge against Chennaiyin FC, the Spaniard said,

They (Chennaiyin FC) are a very competitive team. It’s not only about individuals but they work collectively. If you see their last game against us they played well.

Mumbai City FC has conceded only 4 goals till now. Commenting on the defensive line of the team, Lobera said,

I think we are working very well not only with two or three players but collectively. I think it’s important to keep this balance in attack and defence.”

In the January transfer window, a swap deal took place where Jackichand Singh reunited with the head-coach while Farukh Chaudhary returned to Jamshedpur FC. Addressing the same,

Farukh is a great player and an excellent person. I was happy but here he didn’t have enough chances to play. About Jacki, he knows our style of play and I think it will be easy for him to adapt quickly. He can help us a lot with various things.”

On being asked about any more transfer activity will take place in this window, Lobera said,

I think this is the question for Director of Football. Me as a coach, I am working with players we have and I am happy with my team and continue to prepare for upcoming games. But, it’s our job to try to know how is the market and if possible do something like Farukh and Jacki.

The newly signed winger Jackichand Singh expressed his thoughts and said,

I have played under him (Sergio Lobera) for 2 years and know him. Mumbai City FC is already a very strong team.

I found a slight difference in the philosophy at Jamshedpur FC. But, I am here again with Sergio Lobera to help the team and I am very excited to play here,” he added.
