Odisha FC faced another defeat today against Chennaiyin FC by 2-1. The story remained the same as Diego Mauricio was the only goalscorer for Odisha FC.
After the match head-coach Stuart Baxter addressed the media in post match press conference.
Speaking about the match, he said,
“I am not happy with the manner we played and conceded the goal. The ball wasn’t getting us as we wanted, we lost it much time making mistakes. The game was still alive even after Chennaiyin FC scored two goals. I think we played much better in the second half, offensively and defensively.”
Gaurav Bora and Shubham Sarangi will miss the next match due to suspension, Baxter said,
“We can tweak a little in formation or our style of play in those areas but we can’t make massive changes as they will be absent.”
Quoting upon Diego Mauricio, the head-coach said,
“Diego has been the main striker for the team. It would be mad decision if we had placed him on the field in starting lineup and may be due to fitness issue he would have suffered hamstring problem after playing 60 minutes. So, it was the decision to bring him on in the second half and he tried his best and scored a goal too.”
Baxter signed off saying the team will perform more better in upcoming matches.
