Subhasish Bose signs 5-year mega deal with ATK Mohun Bagan

-

Subhasish Bose was rumoured to join the Kolkata club and has completed the deal, staying at the club till 2025.

The former Mumbai City FC and Indian National Team left-back Subhasish Bose is set to join ATK Mohun Bagan for the next five years. The move was on the cards for a long time and he officially left his former club a few days back.

The versatile left-back, who turns 25 in some days, has played for various clubs in his career. He also played for Mohun Bagan in 2017 where he played ten games for the Kolkata giants. He joined Bengaluru FC later that year and then made the move to Mumbai the following season.

Subhasish’s best years came at Mumbai City, where he became a mainstay for two seasons. He played 34 matches under Jorge Costa as the coach and was part of the team which reached the semi-final in 2018-19. The team narrowly missed out on a top four finish in the recent season. He got his first goal for the Islanders this season against Bengaluru FC in the away fixture.

Subhasish has also played a number of matches for the Blue Tigers and has been a regular at the left-back spot since a few years. He captained India at the 2018 SAFF Cup where India sent their under-23 team and also played in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup. He has played 23 matches for India and has 4 goals to his name.

Time and again Subhasish had expressed his desire to play for Mohun Bagan again, and his wish has finally come true. Being more experienced now, we can expect him to have a more senior role at the club this time around.

Subhasish’s departure from Mumbai was expected since the club was rumoured to have signed FC Goa captain Mandar Rao Dessai who plays as a left-back too. Mumbai City has almost revamped their entire squad with their eyes set on the league title this time around.
