Hyderabad FC have announced the signing of Subrata Paul.

The veteran goalkeeper was playing for Jamshedpur FC last season. He didn’t have a great season with the Red Miners as they conceded 35 goals in 18 matches. Subrata Paul played most of the matches and backup Rafique Ali Sardar got some game time at the end of the season.

Subrata Paul comes with bundles of experience with him. He has played for big clubs like Mohun Bagan, East Bengal, Mumbai City FC, Northeast United and Jamshedpur FC in the past. The ‘Spiderman’ has played in every corner of the country and also had a stint in Danish Superliga. He made a buzz in Indian Football after he signed for FC Vestsjaelland, although he didn’t make any official appearance and played for the reserves.

Subrata holds the record for having the most cleansheets in ISL. Before Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, Subrata Paul was the first choice goalkeeper of the National Team and made 67 appearances for India. From Nehru Cup 2007 to FIFA WC qualifiers 2014, Subrata Paul has seen it all.

Hyderabad FC released 10 players from their squad. One of them was Kamaljit, who is set to join Odisha FC. Subrata has signed a 2 year deal with Hyderabad FC. Interesting times lie ahead for the Nizams as the new Head Coach, Albert Roca, is making some interesting new signings.
