Ever since the launch, Techtro Swades United FC (TSUFC) has been the talk of the town for the past couple of months. The establishment of TSUFC has not only changed the landscape of Himachal Football but has also reformed the Indian Football. The club is now redefining the Himachal football and has been one of the reasons for the on-going football renaissance in the Himalayan borders.

The club is slowly shifting the gears to emerge as the next big thing in the country and they are currently in the process of reinforcing the troops to build a competitive team. To aid the above statement, Techtro Swades United FC recently conducted their senior team selection trials in the valleys of Himachal Pradesh. It was the first of a kind in the state and the newly emerged club made history; became the first professional football club in the state to conduct trials for both men and women’s category.
Techtro Swades United FC’s senior team trials took place at the Khad Football Stadium in Una, Himachal Pradesh and it was properly organised by following the Covid-19 norms. Social distancing was strictly followed at the event and masks were made compulsory to enter the premises.
The selection trials were held for a span of two days from October 25th – October 26th, 2020. Many young aspiring football players from the hilly region actively participated in the event and the club received more than 500 registrations for the trials which included 100 women football talents.

This historic event was also attended by the honourable Himachal Pradesh Football Association (HPFA) Secretary Deepak Sharma and he was accompanied by HPFA Administrative Officer, Mr Shubham Gurung, HPFA Treasurer Mr. Naresh Rana & TSUFC Head of Women’s Development Mrs. Nandita Sharma. They oversaw the whole proceedings and inaugurated the TSUFC trials.
Later, Deepak Sharma went on to address the crowd; he welcomed the club officials and also congratulated the Himachal players for attending the first-ever professional football trials in the state. He then advised the players to utilise the platform created by HPFA and Techtro Swades United FC. He told them to showcase their skills and talent and wanted them to rise up in ranks. The HPFA Gen. Secretary also went on to wish the club for a great future ahead and lauded the efforts to develop this beautiful game in “The Devbhumi”.
Sharma then informed the young aspirants of the state to get obsessed with football and asked them to stay focused on the game. He further told them to work hard with dedication to achieve success.

Subsequently, he also spoke about the former football players of Himachal Pradesh who had represented professional clubs from other states due to lack of a professional football club and facilities in the state and emphasized, that, from now on, the players can dream of building a career from the state only thanks to emergence of professional clubs like TSUFC. He finally thanked TSUFC for their efforts in establishing a professional football club in the region and believed that this initiative would develop several talented footballers in the state.
What’s next?
Even though the football in Himachal Pradesh is yet to be explored, the state has a rich football history to remember. Their Men’s state team has been consistently performing well in the last few editions of the Santosh Trophy whereas their Women’s team are the All India U-17 defending champions. Now, Techtro Swades United FC (TSUFC) will be looking to replicate the same success in the professional stage and will also try to add some more pride for this majestic state on the laps of the Himalaya.
TSUFC is scheduled to play the Himachal Pradesh State Football league later this month. They have set their sights to win the league and will be looking to put the Himachal Pradesh in the Football Map of India by representing the state in the I-League 2nd division in the future. If things pan out well for the Himachal club, we might see them play in the national league soon which will be subject to approval from All India Football Federation (AIFF).
