The Himachal League 2022 season is underway and is running well and fine in the wonderful landscapes of the beautiful state of Himachal Pradesh. 9 Teams battling it out against each other, twice in the league, in-home and away fixtures to find out the Champions of Himachal League.
With 16 matches to be played by each team we’re 11 matches into the League and just a month back from now the boys from the Warrior’s Den, a team of emotions and passion, a team owned and run by the passionate football fans and is for the fans, Techtro Swades United FC under the coaching of ex-Army personnel and AFC ‘B’ Licensed Coach, Vipin Thapa, started their league journey with Dreams in their eyes, and belief in their heart.
Dreams come true they say, and fairy tales are what we love to see and we’re almost on the verge of witnessing another fairy tale being written. A story that just states the beginning of something new, of something big, and something that would keep a mark in the history books.
As it stands, After 11 matches in Himachal State League, Techtro Swades United stands tall and handsome at the top of the table and are racing towards the title with a handsome margin and also with a massive 31 points. To more surprise, the team is still Unbeaten with 10 wins and 1 draw in the league and only 2 goals conceded. Having a goal difference of +28, Techtro FC are looking ever so threatening in the league.
The team started their league campaign with a solid performance and a hard-fought 2:0 win against SAI Kangra, with Ankit Singh and Emmanuel Sambo on the scoresheet. The conditions were tough but the boys coped up ever so well and ever since there has been no looking back.
Domination was the name of the game and with back-to-back score lines of 4-0 each against Himalayan FC Kinnaur and Shimla FC, Techtro Swades United FC was on a mission right from the start. The journey so far has been memorable with confidence oozing around in the atmosphere of the Techtro Camp.
The Himachal Derby was a vital match but the boys were all over their arc rivals Himachal FC as Techtro came out victorious by a 1:0 margin. The journey almost took an upward curve ever since and the curve looks moving forever upwards.
A draw was in the cards against Hamir Falcons, even after a strong performance from the boys. It was 0:0 in match number 4, and it somewhat acted as a boost to the hunger of this team who are here to claim it all.
A dream run for the team as they got back to back victories in their next 6 games, with score lines of 3-2 against Khad Football Club, 3:0 Against SAI Kangra in the reverse fixture, an astonishing 7:0 against Northern Football Academy, 2:0 against Shiva FC, a 1:0 in the reverse fixture versus Himalayan FC Kinnaur and a 3-0 against Shimla FC.
A 10 Star performance from the team in the first 11 games and this team is still unbeatable and looks like an untouchable force on top of the table. What makes this team dangerous is that unlike any other team they aren’t dependent on one specific player to deliver. They’re a team of equally talented and quality players who on their day have the potential to win matches on their ability and as a team.
Teamwork is the key to their success as their coach Vipin Thapa always says and has focussed on. It had been a combined effort, from the players, the head coach, the managers, the coaching staff, and everyone involved in the process. An unbreakable bond on and off the pitch.
The Goalkeepers and the defense have managed to keep 10 Clean Sheets in 11 matches. In addition, not one or two but the team has 13 different goal scorers in 11 matches with 11 Indians and 2 Foreigners on the scoresheet. Emmanuel Sambo was the top scorer for the team with 7 goals.
The bench strength is as remarkable as the ones on the pitch each match day, as we’ve so far witnessed almost an average of 1 substitute scoring a goal per game which is a stat any coach would love to have.
According to club owner and Assistant coach Neeraj Kholiya, the reason for this performance is the mindset and Hunger of the players to prove themselves.
“We all are aiming to win 2nd division and Qualify for the I-League. It will be a perfect entry, on merit and with additional hope because the Winner of the I-League 2023-24 season will get promoted to the ISL,” he added.
Overall the dream looks real and the picture looks perfect with this team. With 5 matches to go, it’s just a wait of time before Techtro Swades United, becomes the first team ever from Himachal Pradesh, to play the I-League 2nd division. For now, it will be all about holding their composure and hopefully making a fairy tale of Indian Football come true.
