Sudani from Nigeria is a 2018 Indian sports drama film, in Malayalam-language written and directed by Zakariya Mohammed. The story following a Nigerian football player who joins a club in Malappuram, Kerela for a sevens football tournament. Sudani from Nigeria was released in India on 23rd March 2018. The film won five awards at the 2018 Kerala state awards, including best screenplay, best film with popular appeal and aesthetic value, best debut director, best actor (Shahir), and best character actress (Savithri and Sarasa). It won the award for the best feature film in Malayalam and actress Savithri Sreedharan received a special mention for her performance in the movie.

Egaro, The Immortal eleven is based on historical event leading to a football match between Mohun Bagan and East yorkshire regiment on 29th july 1911. This was the first time when Mohun Bagan or any native team from India won the IFA shield. The movie was released on 21st January 2011, and is a 2011 Bengali sports film and directed by debutant director Arun Roy. Egaro also the first celluloid tribute to the eleven Mohun Bagan players who win the shield. Egaro collected 8.6 rating out of 10 in IMDb rating and is a must watch film for any Indian Football lover.

Malayalam language biographical sports drama movie Captain was released on 16th February 2018, and was written and directed by Prajesh Sen on his directorial debut. The film is about V.P. Sathyan, former captain of Indian national football team with Jayasurya portraying him. Jayasurya won the Kerela state film award for best actor in the film. In this movie, the character, Jada whose role played by Kathir, is a fearless young football player in north Chennai. His coach says him to play well so that he can get selected for Santosh trophy and eventually secure a job in sports quota. But Jada wanted to avenge the death of his childhood football hero Sethu who died in violent 7s football. The film was announced by debutant director Kumarn with the concept of making an Indian Sports based film.
