#1 Kerala Blasters FC 3-6 Chennaiyin FC
The game between Kerala Blasters and Chennaiyin FC on 1st February 2020 got into the records book as it became the joint highest-scoring match in the history of the Hero Indian Super League with as many as 9 goals scored in the match.
With a disappointing season for Kerala Blasters approaching its culmination, a resurgent Chennaiyin FC decided to rub salt into their wounds by inflicting a heavy defeat on the Blasters in front of their home fans.
The scoring started for Chennaiyin seven minutes before the half-time through Rafael Crivellaro. By the time the whistle was blown for half-time, Chennaiyin had added two more goals to their tally, with Crivellaro scoring one more and Nerijus Valskis also opening his scoring tally for the day, leaving the men in yellow , in tatters.
The goal-scoring spree continued in the second half as well. Bartholomew Ogbeche completed his hattrick in an attempt to level the terms, but the defence could not match his efforts. Kerala ended up conceding 3 more goals as Crivellaro, Valskis and Chhangte- all got 2 goals each from the match.
While this was certainly a match to forget for Kerala Blasters, it was of paramount importance for Chennaiyin as they were on their way to resurgence after a shocking start to the season.
