5) Benjamin Lambot (NorthEast United FC)
Benjamin Lambot is a 33-year-old Belgian defender who has played in the Belgian second division and Azerbaijan League. Lambot revealed in January 2012 that he would join Lierse from Royal Antwerp on a free transfer during the summer transfer window. He signed for NorthEast United FC on the 1st of October and he has a vast experience playing in the Proximus League, Premyer Liqasi, Jupiler League and has represented clubs like Cercle Brugge KSV, Royal Antwerp FC and so on. Lambot on joining NorthEast United FC said, “I’m very happy to have joined the club and I can’t wait to explore the ISL. We’re going make great things happen.” He is only the 3rd player from Belgium to play in the ISL.
Standing at an impressive height of almost 6’3, Benjamin will be vital for Northeast United. His aerial presence, positioning and tracking will be immense for the Guwahati-based club.
In spite of these top defenders, there are some simlarly good defenders in this season of the ISL 2020-21.

Bakary Koné has previously played for clubs like EA Guingamp, Olympique Lyonnais, Málaga CF, RC Strasbourg Alsace in Ligue 1, La Liga and so on. He is a 32-year-old Burkina Faso international. He plays as a central defender.
Iván Garrido González has previously played for Real Madrid C, Deportivo B, Racing Ferrol and so on. He is a 30-year-old right-back/central defender. He spent his youth career at Parla and Real Madrid.
