5. Mahindra United
Mahindra United FC was also another football club from Maharashtra who eventually got shutdown. Their homeground was Cooperage ground in Mumbai. The club used to play in the I-league tournament. The club was founded way back in 1969 under the patronage of Mahindra Group. In the summer of 2004, the club was renamed as Mahindra United. The club won almost all the major tournaments of India. It was the only team from Mumbai to win the Durand Cup twice. During 2007 , the club also reached Quarter Finals of AFC Cup. However the club was disbanded in 2010
