Nelo Vingada was appointed as Kerala Blasters manager ahead of the ISL 2018-19. He had managed national teams like Jordan and Portugal before coming to India. He had also managed NorthEast United FC for two seasons, but wasn’t quite successful in terms of giving results.
After joining Kerala Blasters, he had a very poor season with them where his winning percentage was even less than 15% and was later sacked by the management.
Nelo is currently without a club and the last club that he managed was Kerala Blasters only. He hasn’t made any headlines for quite a long time now and it would be very interesting to see if he’s going to sign for any club in future or not.
Phelan was appointed as a Technical Director of Kerala Blasters grassroots programme in 2015 first and later went on to become the Head coach after Kerala decided to sack Taylor.
Although, Phelan has had the experience of playing for some of the biggest clubs like Chelsea and Manchester City, his experience of playing under so many great coaches didn’t work out for him when he was the head coach of Kerala Blasters.
Coppell was announced as the new head coach after Phelan’s unsuccessful run with the Blasters. After the appointment of Coppell, Phelan again served as an Technical Director of Kerala Blasters grassroots programme. He’s currently without a club and Kerala Blasters was the first and last club that he has ever managed till now.
