Techtro Swades United FC names Yan Cheng Law as their new head coach for the Himachal State League. Yan Law has previously managed Punjab FC and Mohammedan SC. It is to be noted that Techtro Swades United FC will play in the Himachal State League conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Football Association who recently got affiliated with the All India Football Federation.
In the 2019-20 season of I-League, Law was appointed as the head coach of Punjab FC and with an impressive stint there the club finished 3rd in the league. He was the youngest coach ever to manage a top-tier football club in India in the I-League when he joined Punjab FC. Later on, he was appointed as the head coach of Mohammedan SC for a very short span.
Yan Law hails from Kolkata, West Bengal. While Law was playing for George Telegraph SC in the Calcutta League, one of the George Telegraph officials, Joydeep Mukherjee, forced Law to take a D coaching License course. Law showed the potential to become a coach at a very young age itself. Later on, Law turned into a full-time coach with the help of his father.
At the age of 20, Law was named head coach of Calcutta United Club in Calcutta’s lowest division by the owner Joydeep Mukherjeee.
At the age of 26 (now 27), Law obtained the AFC A License, and he is the youngest coach to have done so.
Neeraj Kholiya, co-owner of the club, said, “As our name Techtro Swades United suggests, our club strives to be India’s own club and what better way to believe in that motto than appointing Yan Law as the coach? Yan is one of the few accomplished coaches in India and having him lead the team is really wonderful. We are sure that under him we will have a brilliant start which will give us a momentum to continue achieving more and more.”
Head coach Yan Law said, “I believe in this project, and that is why I am really happy to be a part of this project. It is a dream to take this club forward because I can see what the management is up to and what their vision is. I am really happy and looking forward to the season ahead.”
Techtro Swades United FC will look to utilize the full capabilities of Yan Law as he is one coach who is excited to work from scratch and take a club to a higher level later on.
