Football in India is growing day by day. Shirsh Bihar United from Bihar has already entered in Indian Football and is living with a dream to play in top division. Here’s what they had to say when one of our own, Pratheesh K Plavish interviewed them.
Q) First of all we would like to know about Shirsh Bihar FC?
– Shirsh Bihar united FC is a professional club from Bihar based at Muzaffarpur. We are planning to play in youth I-league, I-league 2nd division and INdian women’s league. Within 1 year club performed well and won 7 All India trophies in last season.
Q) Please tell you about the current squad? Are all of them from Bihar and is there any foreigners in the squad?
– Our squad consists of all professional players in which 9 players played more then 4 Santosh trophy from different states, 2 players represented India in U-17 and 19 team. We also have 3 signed foreigners. We are preparing for I-League 2nd division.
Q) Who is the head coach and what licence does he hold?
– Our head coach is from Nigeria having UEFA A licence. He also worked in I league club from Kolkata.
Q) Is there Youth Teams and are they playing in AIFF Youth Leagues?
– Yes, we formed our youth team but will play youth I league from next year in U-13,15&18 categories.
Q) Where is the home ground? Are you relocating in future?
– We have our ground in outer of Muzaffarpur but may be we will change to Motihari district as we have good support from the district.
Q) Can we see Shirsh Bihar FC playing in Second division this season?
– Yes, this year for sure we will field our team in 2nd division. Last year our club was short listed in last 22 clubs but because we didn’t completed 1 year so not played.
Q) Can Shirsh Bihar FC fill the gap of Bihar football and help Bihar footballers to play for National Team?
– We are trying to put our club/state on the map of football in India. But we are struggling with some politics as no one wants to develop football in Bihar. They dnt have proper knowledge of AIFF’s rules and regulations and the best part is that they dnt want to know the details as well. Last year we got mail to field our women’s team in IWL but our secretary didn’t gave NOC.
We are trying to uplift football in Bihar and also have roadmap for next 5 years if association will support us.
Q) What are the main objectives of the club and also short term & long term plan of the club?
– We are planning to have school league then corporate league which we already signed MOU from state secretary. 8 franchise will play in Bihar with home away format. In the squad, team should have 2 foreigners, 6 players from all India and 3 players from Bihar. May be this league can develop football in Bihar
