Bengaluru FC are all set to complete the signing of Keziah Veendorp, IFTWC can confirm. The Dutch center-back, who has spent the last six years at Eredivisie’s FC Emmen, is now prepared to begin a new chapter with Simon Grayson’s Bengaluru. The necessary paperwork for the deal will be finalized within the coming days, allowing the Blues to secure the versatile player they were seeking to fill their final foreign slot.
Veendorp began his football journey at FC Groningen, where he was a regular in their youth squads before making a move to Emmen at the age of 20. During his time with Emmen, the versatile defender made over 100 appearances for the club in the Eredivisie in addition to 53 appearances in the second division. Notably, he achieved success at Emmen by winning the Keuken Kampioen Divisie, the second division of the Dutch league, in 2022. Throughout his six-year tenure with the club, the now 26-year-old featured in the Eredivisie for four seasons and competed in the second division for two seasons.
Keziah Veendorp has represented the Netherlands National Team in their youth categories, including U18, U17, U16, and U15, making a total of 25 appearances. During his time at Emmen, the Dutch player featured in 173 matches, primarily operating in a defensive role, and managed to score three goals and provide ten assists. Despite being predominantly a center-back, Veendorp has also played as a defensive midfielder and fullback on occasions.
Bengaluru FC in the transfer market so far
The Blues have experienced a very active transfer window, witnessing many incomings and departures. Particularly, their defensive stability was affected by the departures of Sandesh Jhingan, Prabir Das, Wungngayam Muirang, among others. However, the signings of former Bagan defender Slavko Damjanovic and now Keziah Veendorp have significantly bolstered Bengaluru’s defense. Apart from these acquisitions, Bengaluru has also secured the services of forward Curtis Main, Halicharan Narzary, Rohit Danu, Salam Singh, Jessel Carneiro, Shankar Sampingiraj, and Vikram Singh. They have also recently announced the signing of Australian attacker Ryan Williams.
Under the guidance of Simon Grayson, Bengaluru FC reached three finals last year, and the team is hopeful that the newly added players will be instrumental in overcoming the final obstacle and achieving success in securing silverware.
