22-year-old Kerala Blasters FC defender, Hormipam Ruivah’s move to Mohun Bagan Super Giant is unlikely to happen as of now. There were talks between the two clubs for a swap deal between Pritam Kotal and the youngster but talks have stalled since. His continuation with the Blasters is also up in the air.
Hormipam Ruivah, who has plied his trade for Indian Arrows and Punjab FC, began his professional footballing career in the 2018-19 season and it was in the 2021-22 season that he was transferred to Kerala Blasters FC. The fans considered this as a backup signing for an experienced defender but he proved them wrong as he later turned into the wall of the team’s defence alongside Marko Leskovic.
He was a regular starting 11 player and an essential part of the team, also attracting the fans to look forward to how he was performing in the 2021-22 season as they understood that Hormipam was a young and promising defender. Kerala were the runners-up in that season when they, unfortunately, lost to Hyderabad FC in a penalty shootout.
The defending champions Mohun Bagan, on the other hand, are dominating the Indian transfer market in the current scenario as they are transferring in promising players on massive deals. Are they on the way to repeating their glory from the previous season or is there a team strong enough to stop the Giants?
