Xisco Hernandez has initiated talks regarding a transfer to East Bengal FC who are aiming for an Indian Super League berth ahead of the upcoming season, IFTWC has learnt. The 31-year-old did not receive a renewal from Odisha FC and is now a free agent.
As sources claim, Hernandez had sent his CV to multiple ISL sides. However things didn’t click because of the fact that clubs had already targeted the players they want to sign and were already on negotiations. Now his agent Hector Mendez has held talks with the Red and Gold.
Thr Spaniard came to india in 2018 when Bengaluru FC signed him. He appeared in 20 games for the Blues and also won the ISL in 2018-19 season. In june 2019 he joined Delhi Dynamos FC that soon got rebranded as Odisha FC. He got featured in 18 games for the Juggernauts while finding the net 5 times.
After a partnership with Shree Cement Limited, East Bengal are now filling quotations to sneak in to Hero ISL 2020-21. Keeping that in eye, addition of a player who holds the experience of playing in Indian top tier, will be quite helpful for the Kolkata giants.
