-

Northeast United FC has completed the signing of Bekey Oram from Bengaluru FC, IFTWC can confirm.

Bekey Oram’s career so far

Bekey Oram’s entire youth career has been spent at Bengaluru FC, where he progressed through various age group teams and their reserve squad. He stood out as a midfielder and was recognized at the age of fourteen by being awarded Bengaluru FC’s U15 Player of the Year. Last year, the 19-year-old, won the Golden Ball in the RF Developmental League while representing Bengaluru’s youth team. He contributed significantly to Bengaluru FC being back-to-back champions in the RFDL tournament.

Following his impressive displays in the youth teams, Bekey Oram also got the opportunity to showcase his talents in the senior team during the Durand Cup, where he played for a total of 231 minutes and provided an assist. Notably, he was also a key member of the Karnataka team that secured victory in the Santosh Trophy this year.

Bekey’s excellence is not limited to club football; he has consistently represented the Indian National Team across various age levels as well. He was part of the championship-winning squad in the SAFF U15 Championship in 2017, and also featured in the AFC U16 Championship in 2018 and has been a regular at the U17 level as well for India.

Bekey Oram

Under the guidance of former Bengaluru man Mandar Tamhane, Northeast United FC has acquired its fifth player from Bengaluru for this season. With the previous additions of Shighil Nambrath, goalkeeper Dipesh Chauhan, Fredy Chawngthansanga, and Thoi Singh, The Highlanders have now welcomed another ex-Bengaluru player in Bekey Oram.

Notably, both Bekey Oram and Thoi Singh, who were awarded the Golden Ball in the last two editions of the RFDL Championship, will join forces at Northeast United FC. Juan Pedro Benali has been assembling a team with a focus on a long-term project at Northeast United, incorporating numerous young players into their roster. The manner in which Benali guides these very talented players to reach their full potential and contend for the Indian Super League championship this season is to be seen.
