Chennaiyin FC:
Chennaiyin FC would be pretty proud with the way there team were attacking but really disappointed as they could not get 3 points from the match.
With multiple attacks lunging down on the Kerala defense and few errors from the opponents, Chennai would surely have liked to capitalize on the opportunities which went begging.
The new Chennaiyin coach wouldn’t be too much proud though, as they failed to score a goal even after winning a penalty.
With a overall solid and decent performance at the back, and a decent display from the entire team, Chennaiyin FC managed 1 point out of the Southern Derby.
Ratings:
Vishal Kaith – 7.5:
Not a penalty save like his opponent Albino, but Vishal Kaith was not letting anything in against their Southern Rivals. Sound in basics, and confident, Kaith managed to keep a clean sheet for his team in the game.
Lalchhuanmawia Fanai – 7:
Fanai was having a decent game and was quite impressive at the left back position but sadly had to be substituted early due to injury.
Eli Sabia – 7.5:
Eli Sabia was as usual the man controlling things at the back with all his experience and qualities, which helped Chennai keep the clean sheet against their rivals.
Enes Sipović – 8:
Sipovic just like their previous game, was stand out in the Chennaiyin defense. Tall like a mountain he was guarding the Chennaiyin defense and was not letting any spaces for the likes of a Facundo or Hooper, in the danger areas.
Reagan Singh – 7.5:
If delivering dangerous crosses from the right back spot is an art, then Reagan has been the artist so far this season. Along with great defensive shape and defending, Reagan also troubled the Kerala defense with his dangerous crosses in the box.
Lallianzuala Chhangte – 7:
Chhangte again, had a decent game around but then it wasn’t having enough of a spark to get his team the winning goal.
Rafael Crivellaro – 8:
Crivellaro was one of the most dominant players in the Chennaiyin attack and is no doubt a player opponent teams should fear, and so did he put in a shift causing plenty of troubles to the Blasters.
Deepak Tangri – 6.5:
Playing in midfield falling down deep to defend, the young lad had a good game over all but wasn’t a night where we could be in awe, in praise of his performance.
Anirudh Thapa – 7:
The Indian International, Anirudh Thapa was controlling the midfield ever so well with minimal mistakes and great workload and creativity, but at the end wasn’t enough to win the match for Chennaiyin.
Isma – 7:
A great physical presence to deal with, Isma too had a good game and created opportunities but failed to score for his team in this game.
Sylvestr – 6.5:
Sylvestr is someone whom again, goals would be expected from, but a goal-less night at Goa as neither strikers could find the net for the winning goal for their respective teams.
SUBSTITUTES: Jerry Lalrinzuala – 6.5, Fatkhullo – 7, Memo – 6.5, Germanpreet Singh – 6.
