Dutch midfielder Roland Alberg is in advanced talks to sign for an Indian Super League club, IFTWC can confirm. Roland plays as a attacking midfielder and can play on the left wing as well. He is currently plying his trade for Roda SC in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie.
“Roland Alberg is on his way to the Indian Super League,” quoted the source from Netherlands.
Roland was born in Hoorn, Netherlands. He spent his youth career at the AZ Alkmaar academy. Roland managed to catch the eyes of the Dutch scouts and earned himself Netherland u18 and u20 call ups where he managed to score for them as well. But he couldn’t make it to the Dutch senior national team later on. Because of his Surinamese descent, He got his chance to be called up for the Suriname national team.
Roland comes with the experience of playing in the Dutch Eredivisie as well as MLS. He has played over 100 games in the Dutch top division and managed to find the net 22 times. He has appeared for ADO Den Hag and Feyenoord U21 in the past.
Looking at the situation of the ISL club, there are 2-3 clubs which might be needing a foreigner to replace. Currently, Hyderabad FC is suffering because of absence of foreign players as Fran Sandaza, Luis Sastre and Joel Chianese are currently sidelined. East Bengal and Kerala Blasters have been looking to replace their foreigners as well. No matter which club manages to grab his signature, Roland will be a player to watch out for.
